Camp Overview
"Pay it forward" is what my mentor Hal Robinson said to me, a grateful student, when I asked him, "How can I ever repay you for all that you have given me?"
I was extremely fortunate throughout my growth as a student in that my teachers were amazing to me. They gave and gave in the most inexhaustible ways imaginable. I have since been incredibly fortunate as a professional musician and Hal Robinson's words have never left me, "pay it forward." So, the way I see it, now it's my turn to give and give.
And that is one of the many reasons that I've created these camps – to help the next generation of musicians to get better at what they do and to help them expand what is possible for them to do.
Today there are more opportunities than ever to be creative in music and these camps are designed with that in mind, to stoke the creative fires within in order to create and shape the music of the future. I also hope, through these camps, to help enlighten the souls of artists who wish to communicate through their instruments at the highest level. But besides all that, when it comes right down to it, these camps are an opportunity to come together and remember just how much fun music making can be!
